Like a treasure hunt , each riddle is an opportunity to observe and learn the history of a place or monument. The treasure hunt introduces children and adults to the history and anecdotes of Rome and its districts: Trevi Fountain , Honorary Column of Marcus Aurelius , Temple of Emperor Hadrian , Church of Saint Ignatius (interior), Pantheon (interior) , Church of Saint Louis of the French (interior), works by Caravaggio, Piazza Navona. Possibility of organizing a treasure hunt, mixed with a special children's food tour. Archaeological site of ancient Ostia, Roman Pompeii The perfect opportunity to fully immerse yourself in ancient daily life. Let us tell you the story of the port of ancient Rome with its flourishing trade, fundamental to the functioning of an Empire which drew manpower, architects and wealth from its various provinces. The abandonment of Ostia in the Middle Ages allowed many remains to be well preserved: theater , thermal baths , dye works , bakery , etc. In order to immerse ourselves in the daily life of the time, we will be able to enter the insulae , tenements of the plebs or even the thermopolia , the equivalent of our take-aways of today. We will have to imagine that merchants, craftsmen, sailors, shipowners, coming from the Roman lands flocked there, who coexisted peacefully, despite their various religions.   Ghetto district, former Jewish quarter One of the most beautiful areas of central Rome Let us tell you the story of an icon of the Virgin who expressed her torment in real tears or of Beatrice Cenci, executed at the age of 20, inspiring Stendhal or Caravaggio… Sad destinies linked to this district in which in the 16th century, the Jewish community was forced to live in an enclosure that it could only cross during the day. We will recall the ordeal of those who were designated with a veil or a yellow star... The only island on the Tiber is today the solarium of the Romans, but these Sunday sunbathers may not know that every November 2nd a strange procession goes there to access the banks of the Tiber, that the temple of Aesculapius and its well considered miraculous is still found under the foundations of the church of St Bartholomew. The god of medicine seems to have always been present in this former lazaretto where two hospitals are still in operation.   The Trastevere district and the Tiber Island Let us tell you the story of this fabulous district which has remained today the most authentic of the historic center. In ancient times , Trastevere welcomed foreigners and artisans, but today you can still feel the soul of Rome there. As you walk along the narrow streets with their colorful facades where yesterday's laundry hangs, a real little village will open up to you. You will discover one of the oldest churches in the world : the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere , as well as the Basilica of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere, which has preserved its 9th century apse mosaic . You won't necessarily have the chance to sing in the Roman dialect during the locals' "noantri" festival, but you might be lucky enough to come across the bicycle grinder, who has been in business since the 1960s.
