The Wax Museum of Rome was inaugurated in 1958 at the request of Fernando Canini who wanted to provide the city of Rome with a museum similar to those he had visited in London and Paris. The collection is the first of its kind in Italy, due to the importance and number of characters represented in the Museum after Madame Tussaud in London and Grévin in Paris.
